There are two main reasons of why women are underpaid than men; these are: • Undervaluation of a woman’s work • Stereotyping Over the years, we have find it hard to accept that a woman can also be a family’s primary bread winner. The onus for running a family still lies with “the man of the house”, thanks to our old-school thinking and pre-conceived notions that a man can earn better than a woman, simply because he is the stronger gender. Women are considered to be more capable of taking care of their family, child and domestic chores than men, thus are often encouraged to pay more attention to their private life than building a career. Many jobs such as such as mechanical engineer, pilot, financial advisors, and gym trainer haven’t accepted the fact that women can excel in these professions. And these sexist jobs are the reason why women are paid lesser than men. Lack of encouragement and schemes for girl education in the STEM field is another reason for the existing gender pay gap.

Hi…One of the reasons is simple its discrimination.
Employers may choose to pay a woman less because they feel she won’t be as good at the job, or they will have to offset the cost of maternity leave. When a woman returns from maternity leave, she will often find male colleagues being promoted ahead of them, despite the fact that paternity leave is a legal right. we’re often forced to go back part-time, which means lower pay. There’s also a division in the job market which sees women taking more low-skilled jobs, and men taking more executive positions.
There is also a pay gap in terms of how much men and women earn in general, That’s shockingly bad, when considered in terms of lifetime earnings difference.
Yes,gender pay gap is a buzz concern at the moment, but our country is gearing towards inclusive development so there is strong need to create equal opportunities for all specially women, who are key contributors in the job market.
