In recent time, the rapid corporatisation has increased the demand for company secretary’s in corporate functions.
BA,LLB is regular course for which you have enroll in college, and CS is professional course for which you have to enroll with ICSI by paying respective fee and then you can join any private or regional coaching classes.
Company Secretary can cleared by giving three levels :
Foundation Programme ,
Execuitve programme
Professional programme and it might take around 3.5-4 years minimum with 15 months of internship.
So you can pursue both it might be difficult because CS is not easy to crack but as compared to Law you’ll have some subject similar over both. But if properly done you’ll have a graduate degree and a professional degree at the end of 5 years.
Definitely there is bight future for CS like, All companies seeking listing on Stock Exchange are required to appoint a whole-time Company Secretary so one can apply in listed companies. Membership of the Institute is recognized for appointment to superior posts and services under Central Government.
Good Luck !!

A career in legal along with a degree of company secretary promises a great career. If you go through the profile of senior legal and finance people of various organisations, you will find that CFO, Director (Finance), legal head, Compliance head- all of them are qualified company secretaries as well as corporate lawyers.
