Thanks to a LinkedIn article, there has been a lot of buzz that with the automation of processes and new tools with latest algorithms kicking in, the recruitment “industry has about 2 years left in it, 4 at most”, however, many industry leaders have called the article a ‘wrong claim’. Industry experts have argued that humans love connecting with fellow humans and that’s what recruiters exactly do for their clients. They are subjective and instinctive; their opinions can never be replaced by technology and an algorithm can never work/coordinate with a candidate the way a thoughtful external recruiter does. Additionally, companies feel that external recruiters have better connections than internal ones, they save time with their efficient way of doing business, they are quick in finding the right candidate thus save cost as well. We can safely assume that recruitment industry is set for a change with new technological tools coming in but it will never go out of business.
