If you think you were fired for an illegal, discriminatory reason – such as your race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or disability – talk to a lawyer immediately. Most states have strict time limits for filing these claims.
If you feel you have been unlawfully terminated and you want to take action, you can get information from the Department of Labor on how and where to file a claim.
Plenty of people are fired, and it doesn’t affect their ability to get another job. With few exceptions — such as an employee with a poor work history that contains one termination after another — just because you’ve been fired doesn’t mean you’re not employable.
Learn from the termination, approach your job search with a positive attitude and you’ll find employment again.
