Straight answer of this question is reservation system still exist in India because of” Dirty Vote bank Politics”, The reservation on the basis of casts was proposed only for ten years of the Parliamentary /Assembly seats. However the time passed , reservation became political issue and time limit was increased again and again. According to Article16 of Constitution grantees equality of opportunity in matters of public employment. But our politicians equated casts with class and give reservation on the basis of caste. General category people have now lost all hopes to reserve the reservation programme. Some castes which are on OBC wants them to be included in the SC or ST categories to get more benefits. My opinion is, all reservations must be abolished, and all people should be treated equally. System should be altered to one on the basis of economic condition not caste.

People should be given opportunities on the basis of their abilities, knowledge and skills, not on cast based.

The correct term for Reservation in the India constitution is” Representation”.It is given to individual as a representative of the underprivileged community, not on the basis of individual capacity.
