Hi Amrita, This field is highly related to science field. Even a home science students cannot opt for dietician or nutritionist course ever in any University. Home Science is nothing to do with this course and neither Commerce. If you are already a economics hons student, there is no point in thinking for a dietician career. Eligibility Criteria of M.sc in Nutrition and dietician ,Bachelor’s degree (Home Sciences/ Medical/ non-medical/Bio- Sciences) or equivalent or relevant higher qualification. Almost all the important and reputed colleges offering this course conduct entrance examination , but Some universities are also offering diploma courses in nutrition and dietician. Thanks.

Most of the Government universities in India, including Delhi University don’t allow students of other fields to purse M. Sc. (Food and Nutrition). You must be a graduate in Home Science or Food Technology to pursue nutrition at the post-graduation level. But you can check with other Home Economics colleges individually to know their eligibility criteria for admission to M. Sc. (Food and Nutrition). Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar allows student of every field to apply for this course. You must check with college/university to know their exact requirements.
