Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was established in 1985 by Indian government with a special IGNOU Act 1985 in New Delhi and named after India’s one of the most famous former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. As of now IGNOU, have 43 regional study centers, 6 sub-regional centers and 1400 total study centers offering 520 study programs

This is a 2 years course and anyone with valid graduation degree in any discipline is eligible to apply for the course. For some management programs like HRD, Finance, you need to appear for the OPENMAT entrance exams conducted twice in a year, Operations and Marketing. For MBA in Banking and Finance candidate should have cleared CAIIB examination conducted by Indian Institute of Bankers wherein he should possess necessary credentials and membership of the same. In addition, he/she should be working in banking or finance sector for last two years.
Advanced Diploma in Construction Management (ADCM)
This course is designed for minimum 2 years and maximum 5 years where desired candidate should possess 3 years Diploma certificate of Engineering from a recognized polytechnic institute and should be employed or self employed. After completion of this course, he has option to study further and complete his B. Tech degree.
M. A. (Electronics, Media production and Management)
Duration of the course is 4 years divided in 4 semesters and candidate who possesses Bachelors degree in any field with 55% marks is eligible to apply. Admission is granted only once in a year through entrance test having mix of subjective and multiple-choice questions.
P.G. Diploma in Management
Course is designed for 2 years with graduation as eligibility criteria and all the admissions are done through OPENMAT entrance test conducted twice in a year. With this exam, candidates are eligible to apply for PG Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM), PG Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) PG diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM) and for other branches, certain other prerequisites are necessary.
IGNOU Fee structure and admission process
For all courses, IGNOU has single prospectus, which can be demanded via post by drawing a draft of 100 RS in favor of IGNOU or can be directly downloaded online from their official site to pay the sum later. With all the applications, a course fee of Rs. 1000 is to be paid via bank draft from scheduled bank and dawn in favor of IGNOU and payable at regional banks. For proper deposition of your fees and amount make sure you have written your name, enrollment number and address on backside of the draft. Otherwise Bank “Challan” is also accepted if deposited in recommended Indian banks and IDBI bank branches. Submit the University copy along with your application form.
You have to check the admission schedule for individual courses as some courses are offered twice in a year whereas some of the courses are offered only once at the start of June month.
